The Zen of running
Book Description:
Reviews:
Having been a runner now for nearly four decades, I remember buying this book when it first came out and thinking ’Wow - I’d never thought of it that way before.’ As someone who was consumed with the approach to running that getting faster as a distance runner was what it was all about, this book introduced me to the idea that running was more than my mile time. If you’re looking for x’s and o’s of how to get faster on the roads or on the track, or if you’re one of the lemmings being sucked into marathon running, this book is probably not for you. If, on the other hand, you’d like to get a taste of the sense of enjoyment and mental and physical health that can come from the simple act of running, you will want to read this unique book. Amazing photos, clear concise writing. I don’t think the term VO2 Max ever shows up, but it sure made me want to go run for an hour on the beach.
